Updates, Updates, Updates!
Hello awesome, fun and amazing fans of Humanité! I've missed you! Unfortunately on my part, the blog has been denied for a bit now, so I felt it was time to give everyone an update on what's been happening the past couple months. A lot of people have asked about the website, new inventory, new hours, and the general happenings the past few months and everything in between:
Lately:
If you popped by the store in late October and November trying to catch me, I apologize! Craziest. time. ever. I had those sneaky little suckers called Tonsils removed the last week in October and was out of commission for quite a bit - even making me miss Halloween. And I LOVE halloween. Two weeks later my beautiful nephew was born...family takes precedence, so I jumped on a plane to see him in person. Than it was back in time for Thanksgiving and the Holiday season. It's so nice to be getting back into the groove of things :)
The Website:
The short end of the story? It's been a nightmare. What it boils down to is the 1st company that I hired was only able to complete about 40% of the work due to personal reasons. So I hired a 2nd company to finish it, than 3 weeks later I fired them b/c they didn't quite get the whole communication thing. Hired the 3rd company, and now they can't figure out what the 1st person did and are now saying it's not within their realm of job duties. SOAPBOX: When did it become so hard for people to just do their jobs? We're not reinventing the wheel here and I'm pretty sure there are millions of e-commerce websites out there. So where are we with the completion date? I'm hesitant to give an actual date as you never know what will pop up next. But once we get through February, it will get more promising. Thanks for being so awesome and patient. If it was up to us, it would have been completed long, long ago. Thanks for staying so interested and excited!
New Hours:
The winter hours have been in effect since January 1st. In case of the crazy winter storms we have been getting, I update everyone on our facebook page the hours of the store that day. In several instances, we have been closed b/c of the severity of the snow and ice. Otherwise, our daily operating hours are as follows:
Sunday and Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday - Saturday: 10-5p
New Inventory:
This, I am most excited about! For spring inventory, I am scheduled to attend 4 various markets for apparel, accessories and home decor. Nothing thrills me more than researching, scouring and finding the newest brands with the absolute best prices to bring back to you guys! And from what I've seen and purchased, I think you are going to LOVE it! The jewelry sections are getting a major boost from new lines and I'm expanding the section by adding several more displays. So many more choices for you to browse from!
For apparel, I really appreciated all the wonderful feedback I received from you guys. Because of sharing what you were looking for, I'm able to bring back more of those particular items and expand on what we already have. Some brands didn't make the cut this year, but you'll be pleased with the new arrivals!
When you stop into the store, you'll also see more visual changes made throughout. Winter time makes this girl stir crazy so projects keep me from going over the edge :) It's fun and adds to the femininity of Humanité.
Few more notes:
* Beginning in February, we will restart the weekly blog series including "Today, Moxie is wearing... and adding the featured item of the week.
* Thanks to those who have popped over to www.tuckreader.com to read the weekly blog based on the store and the cultural trends and ideas found in the area. I post on facebook when the posts come out each week.
* Side note: Have you guys tried the Hummus at Cork and Bean!? I'm obsessed. It's the best I've ever had. So good I had to tell you about it. And healthy.
* As we get new inventory in, I'll be updating everyone via facebook so you can hurry in and get a sneak peek!
